Consumer VPNs
I came across this infographic the other day and thought it would be worth a mention. VPNs can affect the enforced information architecture of a website, because they can mask the actual location of a user, making them appear to be accessing the site from a different country. This can be used to access content that is only available in certain countries, such as most of the decent video files available through the BBC iPlayer.

I used a VPN to view the BBC coverage of the Olymipcs, the coverage on TV here was terrible.
Agreed. Pity that Australian ISPs don’t provide any bundled consumer VPN services – I’m sure they’d be quite popular.
But then again, given the state of Australia’s censorship laws, I’m not sure that would go down too well with the folks in Canberra…

No I don’t, but am going to start looking into it.
